Data Analysis and Statistics- The definition of this area of math is the gathering and analyzation of mathematical data relating to a real world event.

Applications of Statistics:

All you have to do is go to one of the above links to see the application of statistics in the working world. For example, the Census one is a good stats site because it goes into detail as to how many people live in the United States and how many people perform a certain job.
