APCSA Update for October 15, 2001 9. Journal Prompt for the Week of October 15, 2001: Free Write (Note: Occasionally you will be given a "Free Write" prompting you to write about your current thoughts as they relate to APCSA.). Your 1st Quarter Portfolio is due before 3:47 pm on Oct. 17, 2001. This Portfolio should have the Checklist in the front, and then the 7 items, in order for this Portfolio, including the Complete Journal Writings (1-9). Each item should have a unique Cover Instrument (CI). In back should be the 1st Quarter Midterm Portfolio, in order. Half of your Total Grade for the Quarter in this class will come from this Portfolio. It might be wise to have me look at one or two items in your Portfolio before you finish it since we will not allow for corrections. Don't forget that the Ability to Test Item must be Examination One, and to get the full value of this item, which is 30% of your grade, you must Correct the items you missed, and Reflect on why you missed each item. All items in the Portfolio should come from the Fodder list. You should have done the following: - Written in your Journal. - Read Chapter 5. - Looked at the Chapter 5 programs. - Finished Examination I. - Turned in AP Questions from Chapter 2. - Looked at the Fodder List. This week: # Write in your Journal. # MBCS. # Work on your Portfolio, turn in on the 17th, or sooner. # Write a Grade Calculating Program. # Correct and Reflect on Examination 1. # Install and Explore the C++ Library. # Install 3201 programs on your workstation. Semester Tests: December 18 = 7th period in the afternoon, December 19 = 1st and 2nd, December 20 = 5th and 6th, December 21 = 3rd and 4th.
