AP Physics C Update for the week of September 18, 2000

5. Journal Prompt for the Week of September 18, 2000:
Free Write (Note: Occasionally you will be given a "Free Write" prompting you to write about your current thoughts as they relate to APPC.).

Your 1st Quarter Midterm Portfolio is due Monday September 18, 2000 by 3:30 PM.
This Portfolio should have the Checklist in the front, and then the 7 items, in order for this Portfolio, including the Complete Journal  Writings (1-4). Each item should have a unique Cover Instrument (CI). Half of your Total Grade for the Quarter in this class will come  from this Portfolio. It might be wise to have me look at one or two items in your Portfolio before you finish it. Don't forget that the Ability to Test Item must be Examination I which we are took this week, and to get the full value of this item, which is 30% of your  grade, you must Correct the items you missed, and Reflect on why you missed each item. All items in this Portfolio should come from  the Fodder list (below). Place the Portfolio IN MY HAND when you are finished with it.

The schedule for Tuesday the 19th, Wednesday the 20th, and Thursday the 21st is as follows:
1st period  10:00 - 10:35
2nd period 10:40 - 11:15
3rd period  11:20 - 11:55
Activity      12:00 - 12:50
4th period  12:55 - 1:30
5th period    1:35 - 2:10
6th period    2:15 - 2:50
7th period    2:55 - 3:30
Juniors and Seniors will not start till 10:00 each of these days.  
  
Last week you should have done the following:
- Written in your Journal.
- Read Chapter 2
- Turned in Problems page 28-35 (Part I: 1-7, 11, 16-17, 20)
- Finished and submitted Just Do IT!
- Finished Examination I.
- Worked on your Portfolio.

This week:

# Correct and Reflect on Examination I. Submit it as Ability to Test item in your Portfolio.
# Finish Problems page 28-35 (Part II: 33-38, 46, 52, 64-68, 73-74, 90, 94!)
# Finish work on your Portfolio. Due Monday, September 18. Look for the Fodder List.
# Go to Lab 5 on Monday September 18 to work on your Portfolio.
# Consider being part of the Middle School Mathematics and Physics Presentation Team.
# Study Groups and old APPC Problems.
# BEST, the robot competition team will meet on Monday at 3:30 in the Physics Room.
# Calculate your Portfolio grade and email it to me.

The Lunch Schedule for the 3 Computer Labs: Lab 5 (3201) Monday and Wednesday; 1st Floor Lab (1107) Tuesday and Friday; and  2nd Floor Lab (2102) Thursday.
