Rebecca Beatty and Bonnie Field's Webpage:How to build a portfolio:
At the beginning of the year, Mr. Young will give you a syllabus and on that syllabus you will find the 7 items repuired for the portfolio. It will also tell you other stuff such as how to pick out each item and how much each item is worth. One thing you will need for your portfolio is a CI (cover instrument). You will have to have a cover istrument for each of the 7 items. What you will do is pick out one piece of work for each of the 7 items and put a cover instrument on each one. The CI is supposed to identify which of the 7 items it is,who it belongs to, and a few other details about the piece of work.
One part of the 7 parts of the portfolio is the journal which you will need to keep up with all year. Mr. Young will e-mail you an entry every week along with the weeks update. (Keep up with ALL journal entries cause he will collect all entries that you have done up to that point in the year for your portfolio.)
The next thing you will need is the web page guidelines to show what is required for the web page. This link will take you to the requrements for the algebraic connections web page. Another thing that is helpful in building a portfolio is how to calculate your grade. Mr. Young requires that you do this after he grades your portfoilo and he asks that you e-mail it to him after you have done this.
When building a portfolio Mr. Young makes a fodder list of only some of the work we have done and unless otherwise approved by him you can only use the things on that fodder list. This link is a copy of the 4th 9 weeks fodder.
I hope that this helps you to build a good portfolio. We would like to know if this was of any help to you if it was please e-mail one of us at either r_beatty@fayar.net or b_field@fayar.net
