This software will be used to create lists of meals served, if a parent wants to know what their student has ate they can pull a report containing all meals for that student, this software will also print reports mandatory by the state for free lunches which now can be done by a few clicks of a mouse and use to be hand done. · I have been working on a new program thought-up by Mr. French and designed by me to allow students to swipe their ID card or type in their student ID for attendance and make it where the teachers will not have to do it* We are waiting for approval from GradeBook before we try this, we will have to be able to import this data and as of right now we are not for sure how/we can. If we can it will go into testing phase in 3 classrooms (already chosen) and see how it will work. · It has been brought up that students who are not well supervised can do things on the net that they should be doing.. I have witnessed this in some classrooms and labs were students were chatting about things they should not be @ school or for that matter any where.. PLEASE if you let a student use your machine, keep a eye on them.. We will be working on some kind-of measure against these online chats.. The only problem if we lock it down it will be for all, and I have seen many students using it for good (homework help). · 2 weeks ago we had a District wide network outage for about one hour.. This was caused accidentally plugging in both ends of a network patch cable into the same network switch in the FASST lab. Students were trying to hook up the Gateway machine and did this. Mike Mabry Found that the problem was coming from east campus so he came over here and found the problem cable removed it and PRESTO! The network came back up. All of the 486's could not handle this and most all of them Blue Screened and crashed. · Computer / Network issues: I have had a regular amount of small fires this month ranging from printer wont print, I cant login, to Word is giving me problems. All work requests R up2Date except the Choir dept needs to have the scanner reinstalled, This will be done by the weekend( have to get drivers). We are still having screwy problems with GroupWise, Mike and I have been working on them as they come. Helped the library move some computers to get ready for the ZapMe machines that should be coming very soon (hopefully). These machines will have internet access and will display adds (school related) while students/staff are working on them.. They will not be on the Novell network and cannot be touched by FPS Technology staff. · Went to Microsoft Big Day(small MS tradeshow) and learned some things with windows2000 that will benefit here when we get it.
